Conditions of participation

Requirements:

All members of the Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf are eligible to participate. All are welcome to measure their stage skills in the form of an entertaining short scientific talk.

Registration:

Only those who register in advance for the preliminary round of their faculty can participate.

Presentation:

The slam lasts 10 minutes, it should not be shorter and definitely not longer.

Tools:

Tools are explicitly allowed. PowerPoint presentations are very common. Basically, any creativity is welcome.

The organization team asks for prior consultation so that the technical and spatial feasibility of the aids can be checked. Especially PowerPoint presentations (and the like) must be submitted to the organization team one week before the slam so that they can be technically integrated and correctly displayed. After consultation with the organization team, a dress rehearsal can be set up shortly before the slam.

Each slammer is of course responsible for the success of his or her own presentation. If the chosen tools fail or the performance of the talk fails, this will certainly have an impact on the volume of the audience. To avoid this, it is recommended to be aware of the risks and pitfalls of the chosen tools beforehand and to prepare accordingly.
